Avoiding Boredom

A few years ago I experienced the truth of this message: Only if our mind roams into the past or the future while we do a task, the task seems boring. If we can live in the present while doing the taks, we will not experience fatigue or boredom. I think, this is the message of the Gita as well. The Gita asks us to focus on an activity without being worried about the results. When we worry about the results, we are living in the future. And, that means we are not focusing on the activity. Therefore, to avoid boredom or fatigue, and to develop enthusiasm for life, we need to live in the present.
Following this philosophy, I was able to do so much. I cleaned the sofa, I scrubbed the wash basins, I cleaned the bathroom and I experienced no tiredness. Amazing….that works……
